Seaman High School has an opening for a Head Boys Soccer Coach for the '25-'26 school year.
The candidate must have coaching experience and/or have competed in the sport of soccer.
The head coaching is responsible for teaching student-athletes competitive soccer skills & techniques in preparation for high school competition. The head coach is responsible for motivating student-athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport of soccer and the demands of competing in varsity athletics. This high school season runs from 8/18/25 to 11/10/25.
This position also includes organizing pre-season conditioning workouts(June/July '25) and summer camps, kick-arounds, and team building opportunities during the summer pre-season.
Essential Duties:
- Instructs student-athletes at the Varsity & Junior Varsity level during practices and games.
- Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages student participation.
- Assesses skill level and development for determining level of competition within the program.
- Develops a practice schedule for both individual and team development for the Varsity & JV.
- Coordinates summer camps & activities with our Girls head coach and soccer program.
- Coordinates plans with the SHS athletic director regarding scheduling, budget & facilities.
- Instructs individuals/team regarding the rules, sportsmanship and techniques of the sport.
- Establishes and maintains standards of behavior and supervision of athletes at all times.
- Monitors academic performance to ensure that eligibility requirements.
- Communicates & follows recommendations of the athletic trainer in the event of an injury.
- Conducts a pre-season meeting with athletes & parents regarding team rules & expectations.
- Follows KSHSAA regulations & requirements governing Seaman High School athletics.
- Models sportsmanship and appropriate behavior toward athletes, officials, spectators, etc.
- Follows procedures for inventory of supplies, requisitions, equipment, uniforms, etc.
- Participates in Senior Night, Team Dinners, UKC awards, and post-season awards.
- Maintains emergency information and other related forms related to player health & safety.
- Supports a winning culture that emphasizes hard work, structure, discipline and integrity.
- Models non discriminatory behavior & expectations in all activities related to Seaman USD#345.
